Panoramic Views of the Cottage

The lower section of the hingin’ lum is shown in this picture also visible are the horizontal sections of the roof trusses with the stinless steet ties that have been inserted to prevent the wind blowing the roof away again.

Looking up into the roof space the roof timbers can be seen, blackened by years of peat smoke. Just beyond the rustic roof truss the stainless steel ties are visible in front of the upper section of the hingin lum.

Looking towards the west end of the cottage where the animals lived one can see the original wall cupboard still in place and the original upright posts that supported the sleeping quarters above  where the animals resided.

Looking up into the roof space the structure of the roof can be seen.

The upright sections of the cruck frame embedded in the wall can be clearly seen in this picture. The centre section of the hingin’ lum is also  well displayed.
